Sea Scouting is for young men and women who are 14 (or at least 13 years old and have completed 8th grade) through 20 years old. The Sea Scouting program uses sailing, seamanship, and fun activities to help participants develop their leadership skills and become responsible and participating citizens and leaders who are guided by the character principles in the Boy Scout Oath and Law.
What makes Sea Scouts so unique is WATER. From large yachts to just snorkeling the open reefs of the Caribbean - the world is your oyster. Kayak, Paddleboarding, SCUBA, swimming, or just hanging out with new friends as the sun sets over the open ocean - join us and see where the sea takes you.
Sea Scouts get hands-on seamanship and leadership training that will put a Sea Scout one step ahead of the rest, no matter the path they choose. If the military is not your path, Sea Scouts also get a head start on the USCG captain’s license in addition to the countless other skills and opportunities. Sea Scouts are the official Youth Program of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, reverent.
On my honor I will do my best:
to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
to help other people at all times;
to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
As a Sea Scout, I promise to do my best:
To guard against water accidents,
To know the location and proper use of the lifesaving devices on every boat I board,
To be prepared to render aid to those in need,
To let those less able come first.
